When the water is this glassy, there is no windsurfing to be done. That the egret can see its reflection in the water is one thing. That I can see its reflection from 50 yards away is quite another.
This is Davis Creek. I will go out in as little as four knots and freestyle on this water. There should always be at least four knots of wind. Ideally there should always be twenty, but I feel reasonable complaining about the lack of four.
that's just begging to be messed up by a surfski or a K-1, though....

We actually have a canoe and a recreational kayak...not a SERIOUS kayak, mind you (Bonnie is a serious kayaker just check out her mighty kayaking blog.) There's nothing wrong with taking a paddle and a bottle of wine (chilled) out for a cruise, but I prefer to do that AFTER a little sailing. Even our neighbor Remy (seen sailing the creek at the bottom of this post has been complaining about the paucity of breeze.
