I have seen videos of the windsurfing at the Vela Aruba and intend coming out there from the UK. I'm sort of good ish intermediate. Problem is i'm bringing a non windsurfing partner who likes a beach and a book. Any suggestions where to stay, she likes that Bucuti Beach Resort! what is the access to Vela like from there? Thanks

Philip, I'm not familiar with the Bucuti. Most Vela windsurfers either stay at one of the high-rise hotels next to Vela (the Marriot or the Hyatt would be the best choices) or stay at the Boardwalk apartments (one block from the beach, charming, and affordable.)

"It's good to have a shredmobile" my friend Caldwell said, so I made one. It's a Ford E150 cargo van done up with lumber and k-mart plastic boxes.
