The second annual East Coast Windsurfing Festival (June 6-7, 2009 at Hecksher State Park) now has its own web site! Check out www.ECwindfest.com and sign up to join us in racing and freestyle competition. Don't worry about whether or not you're good enough (I'm competing, so there's no danger you'll come in last) and don't worry about the wind, because barring tornadoes and lightning, the Festival is on! (In fact, in the event of a tornado there will be a skippers meeting...maybe we'll have a spin loop competition.)
The East Coast Windsurfing Festival is tremendous fun...check out the Peconic Puffin's coverage of last year's event...and then sign up. If you can tack, you can race, and if you can do a helitack, you can compete in freestyle. Or just come to Hecksher and cheer your windsurfing friends on!

Mike,
I'm going to advertise this on my blog. I'll try to get as many Hudson River guys over as possible. I just hope we don't arrive in such numbers that we have a Sharks vs. Jets thing, if you know what I mean. (You guys, being ocean critters, are the Sharks, and we, used to cohabiting with PWCs on the Hudson, would be the Jets.) :-)
Jokes aside, I'm really looking forwards to this. Might not be able to come both days, but I'll be there.
Hey, do you have any graphics or images I can use?

Just remembered,
I hadn't seen a post on iWIndsurf yet about this. You want me to do it, or should you, since it is your event?

Ian, you can snag the logo off of the festival web site.
I did a post in iWindsurf yesterday...it should be there...I'll double check.

Re sharks v jets - can you snap your fingers rhythmically while windsurfing?

Bonnie,
That's why we wear harnesses, so we can snap and remind each other, “Boy, boy, crazy boy, you gotta be cool boy!”
We windsurfers are a highly literate bunch, you know.
