I just drove through Nebraska a about three days ago. It is soooooo flat there that nothing blocks the wind, which i could feel blowing my car around. Every little pond or lake I passed had white caps on it. The temptation to pull over and throw some freestyle on some Nebraskan flat water was high, but the amount of time i would have to spend unloading my trunk to find my drysuit just wasn't worth it.

I would highly recommend making the trip to Lake McConaughy for the Toucan. It is a great event. Windsurfers come from all over to go to the Toucan. The beach party is always fun....with tons of cool prizes.
Also if you make the trip out to Nebraska you could check out the Calamus too, it is also great for windsurfing.
