Turnagain Arm in Alaska is already known by cognescenti to offer some unusual (and extreme) windsurfing conditions. The difference between high tide and low tide can be as great as 30 feet (!), producing what they call a tidal bore. Now some SUP surfers are riding that tidal wave when the wind isn't blowing. Christian sent me the link...thank you sir, and let's get back on the water soon!
That's so cool - just imagine being able to ride a wave for such along distance! There seem to be quite a few areas in the world that have these tidal bores - offhand I know there is one that happens in the Amazon, one also in England going up the River Avon from the estuary (or down)- can't think of the others but I know that there are more places - Oz probably!
