I've met some windsurfers who've said they think stand up paddling would be boring after awhile. I point out to them that not only are they more nimble than canoes and kayaks on flat water, but they're loads of fun to surf in the waves.
"You can surf a SUP?"
Oh yeah.
This photo of Jon Ford enjoying Hurricane Maria swell was taken by Jeff Schultz. I took it from his Peconic Windsurfer Flickr page the moment I saw him post it in Facebook.
Puff,
Soooo many nice SUP waves this fall! I jones for SUP surfing same as wave sailing.
I know you paddle surf but have you tried wave sailing your SUP? I'm still dumbfounded x over SUPs arent more popular with every windsurfer not living in paradise.

Thanks for the mention "Puff" :) besides Flickr, I've also been uploading these photos to Google+. The latest post, featuring Scott Kielt, can be found here: https://plus.google.com/109013759787806750408/posts/WXxn8mx1saV
nc boardrider: I've been urging Puff-Diddy to join me and Christian in SUP-wavesailing for months now, but to no avail. I try to remind him it combines two of his favorite windsurfing activities: light-wind freestyle and wave sailing!

If you haven't already check out this blog, NC Paddle Surfer. These guys are incredible and the author has posted guides to adding fins, changing deck pads and is now making his own board.
