Love it,
at least there's honor ( I mean commiseration) among surf/wind/paddlers who get more than their share of punishment and ice packs on the shoulders.

Looks like you got a few good waves to make up for it though.

Not sure I did any better.
Sitting out far enough to avoid the odd beasties coming in meant being too far out to line up for the smaller more attractive beasts. The coward in me wasn't willing to take the beasties on the head to get the good rides.
Then, my very public prediction that things would get smaller in the afternoon couldn't have been further off the mark (thanks for nothing NOAA).
Avoid these conditions or get better/fitter? Perhaps a combination of better judgement and better physical strength...

Mike,I feel your pain, but Christian has it right;get fitter -get better.if u don't surf short period swells around here u wont surf much.Develop that technique for getting over white water and your fun factor be increased dramatically.Peace BB

Bill I hear you but this was too much. I can't duck dive a SUP board, and when big whitewater is knocking me back 15 feet (again and again and again) it's a bear. Been SUPsurfing for 4 years. No argument that I suck. Argument that this day's conditions at Ponquogue were exceptionally challenging and not much fun (until you were out). Usually there's some semblance of a channel or a preferred path.

I keep tellin ya stay away from suppin, ya gonna hurt yerself and then the wind comes...now what?

"It's good to have a shredmobile" my friend Caldwell said, so I made one. It's a Ford E150 cargo van done up with lumber and k-mart plastic boxes.
