He's been stolen, actually. By Michigan windsurfers. We hate them.
Here is what our editor in chief posted on the Michigan thief windsurfers web site:
This is outrageous. You're STEALING one of my (and many other Long Island sailors) favorite windsurfers! The Mighty Larry Hoff is what he's properly called. Andy Brandt of ABK calls him Larry the Legend, but that's because he forgot about The Mighty... Some things you should know:
He's an excellent freestyle
He owns some of the most beaten up sails that it's possible to rig.
Check out his longboard too (if it didn't evaporate since I last saw it)
One of the ten nicest guys in the world.
What do we get?
Theiving Michiganites!
-M (EIC, PP)
Still, we wish Larry all the best!
(Photo of Larry going Gekko when he was still a proper Long Island windsurfer by Jeff Schultz).
One more thing - proper terminology. We are Michuganders, not Michiganites. There are two peninsulas, the upper (UP) and the lower. If you're from the UP, you're a Youper (Yooper). If you're from the LP, you're a troll ( because you live below the Big Mac bridge). The Mighty Larry will join us trolls.

Good luck Larry! Please send photos, including one of you doing a fresh water Gekko on that tiny board. See you at the Spring ABK.

I said, "One more thing . . .", because I had posted a prior comment that apparently didn't come through.
I said that we welcome the poor and unwashed masses, from hither and yon, and even LI.
Larry's new job will plunk him right in the middle of the state, a couple hours east or west from one of the Great Lakes. I hope he is able to get some quality TOW.
