What you really meant to say was you couldn't bear off cos the snake swam onto the board and up the mast and along the boom. So you decided to do one of your stunning fast tacks to get to the other side of the boom but you weren't fast enough and that's when it bit you.

see if you bore off, you would've had speed and alleged sea snake would not have able to catch you. heal quickly more wind on the way!
