Finbuster Alert: Bridge Chunks Off of Hampton Bays

"Chunks Of Tappan Zee Bridge And Old Boats Will Be Used For New Artificial Reef Off Hampton Bays, Westhampton" says the headline of 27east.com.  Oy.  Scott usually sails weed fins, so he may be okay at the Cup and Ponquogue, but me?  Peconic Jeff?   I think our fin boxes may be in for a beating.   It's good for the fish, of course.   The article says they'll mostly go two miles out...I don't sail that far in the ocean on account of I don't like the sharks, but Frank takes long reaches.  Watch out, Frank!

Long Island Scores Big at OBX Wind!

Pete Roesch, Jon Sassone, and the mighty Mike Burns scored big last week at the Hatteras festival. Way to go guys! (P.S. Andy Brandt not too shabby!!)

Puffin Beaks Glow

Thanks to the many readers of The Peconic Puffin for sending us the article on glowing puffin beaks.  Will have to see if mine glows!

 

 

Spring Swap Meet: Save The Date

May 19th y'all.   That's when it happens at Hampton Watersports.  Windsurfing, SUP, kiteboarding, surfing, stand up paddling (for those for whom "SUP" isn't enough) and foiling.   We'll have details as The Day gets closer, but FYI the Puffin don't lie!  Except sometimes.

The Almighty Dollar vs 4.2 at South Jamesport

Many were on the text thread, but only two chose in.   Scott and the Wolf made it to SJ for Wednesday's big blow.  Everybody else "was chasing the almight dollar" said Lord Scotworth.   I know I was.   A mistake!

"Blown off the water!" Scott said at 3PM.  Wish I'd have been.  Last time I was in the foot straps (I'm embarrassed to say in November) I was also blown off the water, but it beats working!

Next time I'm playing hookey.
