Following "the worst Spring ever" in the opinion of the great Wind Chimp/Puffin collective, Friday afternoon started off the festivities with thermals par excellence. Joe Nat caught a 4.2 session at Heckscher, the editor was overpowered on a 5.4 at Mecox, and anyone else who was near the water had good times.
The forecast for Sunday looked like a maybe. 5.8, maybe 5.3 conditions. But early afternoon it turned on, East Landing was the call, and Scott, the Wolf, Hulse, Joe Natalie, Peconic Jeff, Jon Ford and yours truly answered said call. We all (except for "go big or go home" Jon Ford) went out on 4.7's, and we were overpowered. Would have been fine for the fantastic ramps on starboard, but everyone was sailing like they hadn't windsurfed all Spring. Which was true.
Still great fun!

P.S. My father, a combat veteran of the Korean War who came home when it ended, would often say at places and times of rememberances of war: All gave some, some gave all. We remember and are grateful to those gave all.
